What is the Macy's Flower Show?
The 48th annual event held at Macy’s flagship Herald Square is a multi-sensory flower arrangement experience that takes over the store’s main floor, balcony level, and window displays. The colorful, floral-filled showcase is on display for two weeks and typically includes event programming like flower demos, tours, fashion shows, workshops, and more.
Since the 70s, Macy’s Herald Square has been staging the springtime event, and only in 2002 did they begin focusing on the high-concept, ever-changing theatrical themes we see today (past show themes include The Secret Garden, Art in Bloom, Carnival, and the otherworldly Journey to Paradisios). The central theme may change, but a few signature components always stay the same: there’s an extravagant ‘bouquet of the day’ and an equally impressive centerpiece welcoming all who enter.

Macy’s Flower Show will run March 26 - April 10, 2023 during store hours. Macy’s Herald Square will be closed Easter Sunday, April 9.

What is the theme of Macy’s Flower Show 2023?
According to the 2023 press release, this year's show will be wrapped up in a “dreamscape of fluffy clouds and whimsical floral landscapes,” featuring “several gravity-defying elements.” And with ‘Big Dreams Bloom Here’ displayed on their homepage, it’s safe to say Macy’s Flower Show 2023 will be what fantasies are made of. We also know that it will be in partnership with Dior, with a “scent-sational installation” on the balcony level, where visitors will walk through floral “fields” to learn about the brand’s sustainable practices in making their iconic fragrances.
Stop by the world-famous Broadway window - students from The Fashion Institute of Technology will take it over in 2023 to create a magical display of their own.
